Sarai Rojas

California Delegate

Sarai Rojas is based in Los Angeles, California, and is passionate about advancing equity through public policy, particularly in areas impacting Latino communities and youth. She is currently a third-year student at the University of California, Los Angeles, where she is double majoring in Political Science and Chicano Studies and minoring in Urban and Regional Studies.

Sarai dedicates much of her time to student leadership, community organizing, and academic work that explores the intersections of policy, identity, and social justice.

Believing that meaningful change begins when communities most impacted by policy have a voice in shaping it, Sarai channels her passion into action through NFYI, where she hopes to contribute to advocacy efforts that strengthen support systems for youth and families involved in the child welfare system. Through this work, she aims to elevate community perspectives and help advance policies that promote stability, opportunity, and long-term well-being.

Outside of NFYI, Sarai serves in leadership within her student organization and student government where she helps coordinate initiatives, build community partnerships, and support programming that uplifts Latino culture and student engagement. These experiences have strengthened her interest in public service and community-centered leadership.

Beyond her advocacy work, Sarai enjoys trying new food spots in Los Angeles with friends, running, and going to concerts.

Through the Congressional Leadership Academy, Sarai hopes to gain deeper insight into the policymaking process, strengthen her advocacy and leadership skills, and learn how to effectively engage with lawmakers. She hopes to apply these skills to further advance policies that support underserved communities and create more equitable opportunities for future generations.
