California Delegate

Myriah Smiley

Myriah is a former foster youth from Los Angeles, California. During her time in foster care, she experienced fifteen different foster homes, one group home, juvenile hall, SILP, and even homelessness. She will permanently emancipate later this year, when she turns twenty five.

Myriah is also a foster youth advocate and her long-term goals are to graduate from USC with an M.A. in Social Work and build a career that allows her to change the lives of system-impacted youth. She is proud of breaking several generational cycles in her family and is currently raising a wonderful son.

Myriah has competed in the Miss Compton Pageant and won the title Miss Compton Princess in 2018. She is currently studying Culinary Arts at Los Angeles Harbor College and hopes to one day have her own catering service. In her free time, Myriah likes to bake, network, and create opportunities.
