Michalann Clark is from Oklahoma and is passionate about improving the child welfare system by turning her lived experience into purpose through advocacy and reform. Having experienced foster care herself, she is committed to improving outcomes for youth in care and ensuring that young people are included in shaping policies that directly affect their lives.

Michalann actively advocates for child welfare reform in Oklahoma and nationally. Her work focuses on improving the transition to adulthood for youth leaving foster care and the overall experience for youth in care. She is especially passionate about ensuring youth have access to stable and well-trained placements, stronger sibling connections, early intervention support, and resources that allow them to successfully transition into adulthood.

She serves as a leader on two statewide councils in Oklahoma, including the Youth Advisory Board and the Extension of Foster Care Board, and is also a member of the Youth Villages Council. Michalann frequently uses public speaking and writing to educate others about the needs of youth in care and has served as both a panelist and keynote speaker. She is currently a full-time Social Work student at the University of Oklahoma and works as a Child Welfare Assistant for the Oklahoma Successful Adulthood Program.
