Joshua Elizondo is a public figure, actor, and entertainer using his platform and intersectional identities for social change. 

In public service: Elizondo is the 3rd District appointment to the Los Angeles County Youth Commission under the Board of Supervisors. He also serves as the Commission’s Operations Committee Chair, and as a representative on the Education Coordinating Council where he is a member-at-large and Youth Engagement Subcommittee Co-Chair. 

In other spaces: Elizondo is the founder of The Foster Bunch, dedicated to changing the narrative of foster care through the use of media. He is also an Associate Producer on an upcoming foster care advocacy documentary film with Far West Film Co. 

Previously: from 2021-23, Elizondo served as a gubernatorial appointment to the California Community College Board of Governors overseeing California’s 116 institutions and has also been Student Trustee to the CCC Trustees Board, as well as student government President/Student Trustee for Santa Monica College. From 2019-2025, he was a Member of the Board of Directors and with California Youth Connection for 10 years. He was also the Program Coordinator for Pepperdine University’s Foster Program, Horizon Scholars. 

Educationally: Elizondo is a first-generation graduate of Pepperdine University with a BA in International Studies: Global Politics and a minor in Social Work. He has also obtained fourteen AA/AS degrees and three certificates across several disciplines from Santa Monica College.
