Goharik ‘Gigi’ Tashchyan

My name is Goharik “Gigi” Tashchyan. I am a Psychology major with a minor in Anthropology at California State University, Northridge, and a proud parent, preparing to pursue a Master’s in Social Work. As a former foster youth and first-generation college student, I know the challenges of navigating higher education without traditional family support, and I carry that perspective into my advocacy work.

Today, I balance my role as a student and parent with leadership, mentorship, and entrepreneurial projects that serve my community. My long-term goal is to specialize in trauma-informed therapy and policy reform, ensuring that foster youth, parent scholars, and survivors of adversity have access to equitable opportunities. I am passionate about using my education and lived experience to influence policy and create systemic change that allows future generations to thrive.
