Arizona Delegate

Evelyn Flores is based in Arizona, is a dedicated community advocate, nonprofit leader and financial educator, passionate about empowering underserved communities and individuals. She has dedicated her career to advancing financial education, supporting entrepreneurs and low-income families, and advocating for youth transitioning into adulthood.

Evelyn’s work is grounded in both professional expertise and lived experience. Guided by a belief that every human is deserving of unconditional love, support and safety and through resilience, lived experiences can be transformed into stepping stones for success. Evelyn channels her passion into action through NFYI by focusing on policies that strengthen support systems for foster youth and expand access to financial education services and economic stability.

Outside of NFYI, Evelyn serves as Program Coordinator for RAIL CDC’s Financial Opportunity Center, where she leads a team of financial coaches and provides trauma-informed financial coaching to small business owners, entrepreneurs, and low-income families. She is also the Co Founder of Village de Amor, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster youth by providing essential resources such as clothing, school supplies, hygiene kits, mentorship, and financial education. With over a decade of experience in sales, data analysis, program management, and nonprofit leadership, she brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her leadership. She holds certifications in Trauma-Informed Financial Coaching, ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) Training, and is a HUD-Certified Housing Counselor. This combination of technical expertise and empathy allows her to meet people where they are, providing solutions that are both practical and transformative.

Beyond her advocacy work, Evelyn enjoys mentoring youth and engaging in community initiatives that uplift and empower others. Through the Congressional Leadership Academy, she hopes to strengthen her leadership and policy advocacy skills to help advance child welfare policies and expand opportunities and access to resources for foster youth.
