Brianna (Bri) Deason is from Pella, Iowa and is passionate about transition supports for youth who age out of foster care. She dedicates her time working as a program assistant for a private foundation in central Iowa and as a political science student at Grand View University.
Believing that policy is most powerful when informed by the experiences of those who lived through it, they channel their passion into action through NYFI, focusing on stable and secure housing for transition-age youth. Outside of NYFI, she is involved in local advocacy efforts, youth engagement, and civic engagement opportunities in her community.
In her free time, Bri enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling. Through the Congressional Leadership Academy, she hopes to gain knowledge around policy that impacts housing and apply it to achieving policy that offers every youth who ages out of care secure and safe housing.
