Abril is a 25-year-old Sociology major at California State University, Dominguez Hills, and holds an Associate of Arts degree as a Special Education Assistant from Long Beach City College. Their academic background and lived experiences have shaped their commitment to human rights advocacy, with a focus on foster youth and children with disabilities.

Through both study and service, they have developed a deep understanding of the structural barriers that impact vulnerable communities. Inspired by the moral philosophy of Star Wars, particularly the belief that individuals can choose courage over fear and stand against injustice, they approach advocacy with resilience and purpose.

Abril’s goal is not simply to make a difference, but to create lasting, transformative change by expanding access to resources, strengthening support systems, and empowering foster youth to thrive beyond their circumstances.
