Shawn DiGregorio is a former foster youth and current student at the University of Southern California studying Music Industry. Having grown up in group homes and foster placements throughout Los Angeles County, he carries a lived understanding of both the resilience required to navigate the system and the structural gaps that continue to impact young people in care.

As he advances his studies, Shawn is gaining experience within the music industry through internships and professional exposure, developing insight into how creative careers are cultivated behind the scenes. Entering these spaces as a former foster youth has heightened his awareness of how access to mentorship, networks, and industry knowledge can significantly shape a young person’s trajectory. That awareness informs his commitment to helping create clearer pathways for foster youth who aspire to pursue higher education and careers within creative industries.

Grounded in both lived experience and academic growth, Shawn is dedicated to expanding opportunity for foster youth across Los Angeles County. He remains focused on strengthening long term support systems that extend beyond aging out and into sustainable adulthood.
