Annmarie is from Orange County, Calif. The 29-year-old began advocacy in 2017. From the experience as a Congressional Foster Youth Delegate, she hopes to gain more information regarding issues that impact foster youth and the process of policymaking. Annmarie hopes to learn at the federal level how our government leaders facilitate and work together to push for policies to be in place and the behind-the-scenes work. A fun fact about Annmarie is that she loves to be outside to hike and/or swim. A quote that Annmarie feels connected to is from Jackie Chan, “sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life.”
The National Foster Youth Institute is a youth development organization that lifts up foster youth voices to transform the child welfare system.
