Sapphire Murphy-Powell is a 19-year-old from Christchurch, New Zealand. Sapphire is passionate about change in the foster care system as well as change in the mental health services sector.

She has worked alongside VOYCE Whakarongo mai for several years, advocating for issues like mana-enhancing practices and uplifting youth voices to be heard both locally and nationally. Sapphire has also worked on multiple youth counsels lectured at her local university on the topics of foster care, teaching students how to work with traumatized young people, changes in youth justice, and mental health reform.
