My name is Serena Skinner and I am a proud mother, foster youth advocate, wife, and college graduate. With nearly a decade of child welfare system reform experience, I have facilitated state foster youth conferences, led member workshops, and helped pass State Assembly and Senate bills on national and statewide levels. I am passionate about helping foster youth find and uplift their voices and influence systematic change for the greater good. My experience in foster care has molded me into who I am and I hope that I inspire newer generations to use their voices, to become advocates and leave the foster care better than when they entered it. My goal is to stay connected to foster youth advocacy spaces and community.
