Michael Miser

Michael Miser is a child welfare policy advocate and U.S. Navy veteran who served six years on active duty before transitioning to higher education. He is now a junior studying political science at Cal Poly Pomona. During his time in college, Michael completed a grant writing internship with the Anthony and Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation while also serving as a Digital Media Specialist for the Los Angeles County Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, where he provided outreach and resources for veterans.

Following these internships, he served as a delegate for the National Foster Youth Institute’s (NFYI) Congressional Leadership Academy (CLA) Class of 2024. He is now a peer mentor with Cal Poly Pomona’s Renaissance Scholars Program, supporting fellow foster youth in their academic journeys. In addition to his mentorship role, Michael is a 2025 CCAI Policy Intern and currently serves as the Senior Policy Intern with NFYI, where he continues his advocacy for foster youth and policy reform.

Following his undergraduate studies, Michael aspires to attend law school and pursue a career in policy, where he can continue working on legislative solutions that create meaningful change.
