Frances Davis

North Carolina Delegate

Frances Davis is originally from Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is deeply passionate about ensuring secure housing and access to resources for youth transitioning out of foster care, addressing the disproportionate placement of Black youth in the foster care system, and supporting family preservation.

Her favorite quote, “Your beginning does not determine your ending,” reflects her belief that while life may not start easily for everyone, the choices made along the way shape how far someone can go and how great they can become.

Frances is currently pursuing her psychology degree at North Carolina Agricultural and
Technical State University. While in college, she dedicates her time to organizations such as SaySo, Melanin in Medicine, and Move-In Day Mafia. She hopes to use her degree to become a physician assistant and support mothers experiencing postpartum depression.

Frances also enjoys collecting vinyl records, going to the movies, taking Polaroid photos, and fighting for racial equality. Through the Congressional Leadership Academy, she hopes to strengthen her advocacy skills and gain knowledge that she can apply both across the United States and back home in Cumberland County, which has one of the highest numbers of youth in foster care. She lives by the motto “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” She is excited to work with the other delegates on being the change they want to see.
