California Delegate

Brinton Reed

Brinton Reed is based out of Los Angeles, California and is passionate about urban food systems, sustainability, and community resilience. They dedicate their time to researching inequalities in urban sustainability, studying regenerative agricultural practices, and providing nutritious food through their meal prep business.

Believing that “access to fresh, healthy food is a right, not a privilege,” BR channels their passion into action through NFYI, focusing on policies that address food insecurity, environmental justice, and equitable food systems for children and families. Outside of NFYI, they are also involved in conducting research on sustainability and regenerative practices, categorizing literature to assess current approaches, identifying limitations, and advocating for ecosystem revitalization.

Beyond their advocacy work, Brinton enjoys fatherhood, snowboarding, exploring innovative ways to merge sustainability with entrepreneurship, and engaging with

communities to inspire future generations of urban farmers. They live by the motto: “Grow where you are planted.” Through the Congressional Leadership Academy, they hope to gain policy advocacy skills and a deeper understanding of legislative processes to drive systemic change in food access and environmental justice.
