New Jersey Delegate

Timothy Woody

Timothy Woody, New Jersey –

Timothy entered foster care with his brother at age seventeen; both were placed with a family friend. In 2016, Timothy was asked to speak for National Adoption Day. He spoke about second chances, dreams coming true, and having a forever home where parents embrace and love their children. At eighteen, Timothy became a recruiter for prospective foster parents across multiple counties in New Jersey.

Timothy is a graduate of Ramapo College, where he studied Social Science and Public Policy. He served on the student government and as the school Senator over the School of Social Sciences and Human Services. During his time in office, Timothy helped create a campus food bank and a relief fund for students in financial need.

Timothy has also served as an advisor on the New Jersey Commissioner’s Council, working on policy to keep siblings together, looking at ways to incorporate youth voices, and crafting legislation that extended foster care. He wants to make a difference in child welfare, and is especially passionate about juvenile justice and creating better access to higher education.

Timothy Timothy plans to work toward a Masters degree in Social Work at Kean University, then move on to a Doctoral degree in Policy Administration. He hopes to one day become the Commissioner of New Jersey.
