West Coast Policy and Organizing Manager
As NFYI’s West Coast Policy and Organizing Manager, Kenneth Chancey supports the organization’s strategic planning and works to advance policy goals through multi-pronged community outreach efforts.
Before joining NFYI, Kenneth served in both the public and private sectors, working with PR Firm Cerrell Associates and as a Legislative Deputy to Los Angeles City Councilmember Marqueece Harris-Dawson. A former foster youth himself, Kenneth has long been an advocate on social justice issues, especially homelessness and the numerous injustices associated with the foster care and juvenile justice systems. He has been recognized for his work within underserved, often overlooked populations previously being honored with the Union Rescue Mission’s ‘Dare To Dream’ award, and Faith Hope and Love Unlimited’s ‘Faith in Action’ award.
A graduate of Loyola Marymount University with a degree in Political Science, he considers himself to be a political junkie. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, cooking and long jogs on the beach.
