Wendy Smith PhD, Chair of the Board

Clinical Associate Professor & Associate Dean, University of Southern California

In addition to serving as an Associate Dean and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Southern California’s School of Social Work, Smith is a licensed social worker, author, and is involved with a number of organizations including the Los Angeles County Commission for Children and Families, United Friends of the Children, Venice Family Clinic, Human RIghts Watch, Children’s Rights Division, the Anti-Recidivism Coalition, and the National Foster Youth Institute. She has won numerous awards including the Nancy Daly Founder Award, the 2013 United Friends of the Children Award, and The National Foster Institute 2016 Champion of Children and Youth Award. Her publications include “The role of neurobiology in social work practice with youth transitioning from foster care,” in Matto, Strolin-Goltzman, and Ballan, Eds. (2014) Neuroscience for Social Work.
