Conway Collis, President and CEO of G.R.A.C.E (Gather, Respect, Advocate, Change and Engage) sponsored by the Daughters of Charity, has been a public servant and advocate for social change for more than four decades.
A graduate of Occidental College and Stanford Law School, he was a committee counsel on the U.S. Senate Labor and Public Welfare Committee and an elected Member and Chairman of the California State Board of Equalization, California’s governing tax and revenue agency. He also served as Chairman of the California State Senate Bipartisan Task Force on Homelessness.
Collis has initiated and directed through enactment several major programs, including California’s Medi-Cal Provider Fee, which has provided over $15 billion for health care for low-income Californians and over $2 billion for children’s health care.
Collis is a member of the California State Commission on Children and Families (the state’s First 5 Commission), and is the founding board chair of the National Foster Youth Institute.
